    I do not play golf, but I believe one does not use a tee for a putt.

    On the other hand she got to 2 inches from the cup, and 2 strokes up. Maybe they both shouldn’t be out there.

    On a 200 yard par three I missed a hole-in-one by a foot. Missed the putt.

    That is exactly how you do match play golf (as opposed to stroke play, the more familiar form): You give your opponent the gimmees on the early holes and make him earn them on the later holes.
