Julia Child had a brief career in motion pictures. This publicity still was issued to promote the film “Oh No, It’s Gallagher,” in which Child played the prop comedian’s mistress.

I was a bell-hop at the Hyatt House in Richmond. I checked in Julia Child lat one evening. She was one of the biggest women I have ever seen in my life.

    Sing a song of Julia:
They say she was a spy.
    Four and twenty bad guys
    Baked in a pie.

    When the pie was open
They made those bad guys sing.
Now ain’t it great to have a chef
As part of our spy ring?

Perhaps it’s me, but I did try out her “primordial soup” recipe several times, and it never worked.
