B. Kliban’s vast body of playful, surreal irreverent free-form work is well overdue for re-discovery. An innovator who significantly expanded the realm of cartooning, Kliban inspired a generation with his no-limits approach. His numerous books – Never Eat Anything Bigger Than Your Head, Whack Your Porcupine, Two Guys Fooling Around With the Moon among them – spread the Kliban vision far and wide, and put the term “Klibanesque” in the dictionary. His constructions – whether single-panel drawings (“Mental floss.”), multi-panel sequences (“Four Useless Motions”) or eight-panel image-poems (“Sheer Pottery”) – push fearlessly forward into unexplored territory. Welcome to his unique and compelling world.

hmmm…did marconi know about this? there seems to be a bit of a debate as to whether he could have actually received a signal in newfoundland in december1901 broadcast from cornwall.

That’s venison, not beef, and I’ve no idea whether deer vocalize at all.

@runar
Yes, they do. It is a bleat, much like that of a goat.

Deer will grunt for different reasons. When a cougar is chasing them, they can scream.

@Nabuquduriuzhur
As do rabbits. It sound much like the cry of a human baby.

@piloti
I’ve heard rabbits scream. I once managed to sneak up on one close enough to grab it, and when it squealed, I was so surprised that I dropped it. I guess that’s what it was for.

Ooops. I read that as ‘Verizon’ receiver. Maybe they work the same way?

Deer also make a loud, harsh exhalation sound that’s short of a scream as a sort of alarm call for others in the herd. I hear that often enough out here in the boonies where deer can become numerous enough to be a real pest. I have to fence my garden if I want any tomatoes.

I’d rather have a bacon receiver.
