Whenever I was in Santa Barbara, I always made sure to go to the used bookstore by the courthouse. They had a cat there.

The old Peabody Book Store in Baltimore had cats sleeping on stacks of books and also on the shelves.

Is it because they are warm to lie on, As one of mine always sits on the newspaper on the worktop as I don’t think he likes a cold bum

I hope he does that after you’ve read it. How wonderful. We read books cats have had their butts on. Euuw!

I got my cat fix next door tonight. I don’t miss the litterbox, though.

Cats love to smell books, especially used books or library books. I always wonder what they’re smelling.

Encinitas library has a cat – or vice versa. Tuxedo cat slips in the door in the morning, hangs out, comes ’n goes all day. Has no problem with laps and petting between times.
