Creator Larry Wright, now retired, served as editorial/op-ed page cartoonist at The Detroit News for 30 years, drawing three editorial cartoons a week. Wright is a past president of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists. He lives in Michigan with his wife, Naoko and cat, Domino.

When I had a cat, I could not keep any plants in the house – it was “salad bar” time every time – including flower bouquets. I just took them to Mom’s house or put them on top of the fridge.

I’ve also learned not to keep live plants in the house. I just buy the fake ones – they’re easier to take care of and my cats usually don’t try to eat them.
