So many metaphors, KAL had to double the Toon size. That or they’re paying him by square-inch Sundays.

Snowden is a Hero. He showed us that our rights were being violated (or at least a preponderance of evidence that such was going on) and forced the government to confront the issue.

He DID NOT embarrass America – The Federal Government embarrassed America by listening in on the private conversations of foreign leaders (even our allies).

Governments will always tell you that they are doing things for your own good but that serve the needs of those in power. We need Transparency and honesty from our Government and instead we get lies, deceit and monitoring. This is neither a Republican Issue nor a Democrat Issue. Both Bush and Obama were involved in this crap.

Snowden needs to be exhonerated so that other Whistleblowers will come forward and make sure we know when our Government is misbehaving.

I hope Obama had to squirm as he and his ambassadors explained to our allies why we were listening in on their conversations. I would have been just as happy to see Bush squirm in the same situation.

I, for one, am more afraid of a US government full of self serving sneaky bureaucrats then I am of terrorists and anti-government kooks.

How can we have a Democracy that is “Of the People, By the People, and For the People” when Men and Women in Government hold themselves above the law for Our own good.

Shame on Obama for trying to defend this evil.
Shame on the FISA court Judges who allowed this to continue.
Shame on House and Senate members (Both sides of the Aisle) who were briefed on these activities and thought that the safety of their citizens was a priority over their freedoms.

I seriously doubt there is a terrorist behind every tree (Remember the Red Scare?) But there seem to be an awful lot of Government people who think that they know what’s best for us “little people”.

I think you nailed it. The Feds embarrassed American, no Snowden. I wish he had exposed it a long time ago.
