Actually, we’re just using drones to do what we did more covertly, for decades, in countries all around the world. Sometimes done with those nice “contractor folks”.

The British Empire used poison gas dropped from aeroplanes, as a cheaper, more efficient way to maintain their Empire. Didn’t work against Europeans who also had poison gas, or against the US who had A-Bombs. MAD obliterated the British Empire.
Will MAD and drones preserve the American neo-Empire?
Pessimists prognosticated the imminent end of the Roman Empire 400 years prematurely. So does the US have another 400 years of neo-Empire?
