Recognizing that nearly every death row inmate has women who ‘love’ him, this cover did not offend me. Remember the Murderers’ Row Collector cards? That offended me.
The story is a question that has been previously raised by the boys at Columbine, the Aurora movie theater shooter, and others.
What makes a good looking, personable kid, doing ok in school, become a monster?
This is the picture of Dr.Jekyll. Mr. Hyde is amply revealed and discussed in the article.
Those who are offended by this face have every right to feel that way.
The only way any good can come from this tragedy is for us to learn from it and to put those lessons to work in a civil and respectful manner.
Today is the one year anniversary of the Aurora Theater shooting.
    Are we learning yet?
    Respectfully,
    C.

the “Hollywood” glamourized photo on a magazine cover is bottom-feeder glorifying of an Islamic Jihadist with several notches on his potential suicide belt!

    -
Not even the most leftwing magazine ought to try to make a mass murderer into a “Star”…..and the public reaction to that cover is totally justified IMO.
    -
Q= should they do a “Star” cover now of Major Hassan on trial for the Islamic Jihad Fort Hood killings????

It may surprise some but your statement about convicted murderers having their fans is absolutely true.
Many years ago while searching for a convicted, escaped felon, considered armed and dangerous, two young ladies whose home was in the suspected path of the fugitive’s escape replied, “If he comes here, do you think we would really turn him in?”
I considered that to be a real Death Wish.

Part of the story is how a good looking young man from main-stream America with a seemingly bright future could turn into a terrorist, or jihadist, or whatever. Its an issue that needs to be examined.

The holy of holies of prez did the same thing. Lincoln completely removed it and was in his time considered a dictator. Now he is seen as the savior of the country

“good publicity, bad publicity, just spell my name right”

Tell me this cover isn’t to die for.

agree w/Stipple… publicity is part of what all these alleged murderers want… to be famous/infamous… known for their deeds or ‘death by police’

Evil or criminal people can be phisically attractive. Live with it. To me it’s just a bunch of ugly blue-b_lled conservatives angry at the fact that the guy may be getting more sex than they are.

Sex and desirability from women are not a reward for morality, it’s a pulsion of nature. Women think he’s f*ckable, does it mean they think he’s innocent? Hell, no!

Can one assume he’s the one bloke who can be assured 72 virgins if martyred?

    @omQ R

No, more like 72 Virginians…as in our Founding Fathers. Between George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin,..et al, they’ll whomp the stuffing out of that kid.

Gypsy8, as is obvious on these pages, and in the general response to the Rolling Stone article, “conservatism” mandates blind acceptance of dogma, not legitimate examination and exposition of cause and effect, and “learning” anything.
