And Kansas just learned that the company that insures 90% of their schools will drop insurance on any school that allows teachers to carry guns. Not because it’s liberal, but because it’s a for-profit business. And because unlike the NRA, insurance companies can do math, and putting more guns in schools will cause vastly more deaths than it will prevent.

Yet you ignore the fact that actuarial analysis is speculation based on research, so is not fact.

Then you ignore the fact that the anecdotal information provided regarding concealed carry is based on actual, real life, happenings.

Then you go on to a purely emotional misdirection relating generic statistics about gun related incidents during some obscure time frame without linking them to subject of the cartoon.

-5 points for spelling (carryer ), did you mean to say carrier?

The obsessed coverage by the cable networks of the Zimmerman trial DOES demonstrate the impact of “concealed carry” and “stand your ground” laws. An unarmed teenager is dead, and the armed instigator of the confrontation is on trial, claiming, “self defense”.

    And that’s the fact, Jack!

Has the Federal law against carrying a firearm on school property (other than law enforcement) been repealed? I think this only applied to schools which receive federal monies.

Funny how some people denounce teachers as worthless leeches who should be thrown out on the streets… and then advocate for arming them!

Have you seen the Trevon Martin case? How about the Boston Bombers who killed a police officer with a gun they purchased with no background check? Or the local shootings where people rob liquor stores, shoot each other by accident or murder each other for (insert reason here)? What happens if the gun goes off accidentally (its not supposed to happen but for some strange reason it does) and hits a kid? Still not wild enough for ya?

The school I went to the teachers would have been inclined to pull a gun on you if you had demanded profundity from their lectures. That is, instead of exclamations of: “Not everyone is college material,” or “There are too many chiefs, not enough Indians.”

    Let us see.
A coward gets a gun. He wants to feel powerful and stalks a child obviously smaller than him.
After twenty minutes of trailing and chasing he gets his confrontation.
Surprise, the kid knows how to fight and gets the better of him.
The coward then pulls out his gun and kills the child.
Vigilante justice may get served on this one.
How to do a background check for cowardice? tough chore.

Seriously, Ken? I can’t believe you’re stupid enough to believe that armed teachers will start blazing away at their students.
I’m old enough to recall when public schools had gun-safety programs in and around public school buildings. And guess what? There were no bloodbaths. Nobody got shot. And school districts got insurance from companies that were sensible, not politically correct piss-ants like EMC.

Beside the old straw of “mental illness” (an extremely SMALL SEGMENT OF SHOOTERS), there ARE personality types who should NOT be “strapped”. Folks who “worship” the “Dirty Harry mentality”, and that includes some folks at the head of classrooms, should NOT be packing in a crowded classroom, where if “it” hits the fan, their response would NOT be appropriate.

In the years I spent in law enforcement, I only saw one incident when a seasonal ranger pulled a gun on a guy, and used it totally in violation of all protocols: his full time job was as a TEACHER! Yes, he was forbidden to carry a weapon, and removed from “field” duties after that incident.

A teen armed with two fists and a chip on his shoulder attacked what he thought was an unarmed man. In order for the ‘confrontation’ to take place, TM had to go in the opposite direction of his destination…which he had plenty of time to get to, go in, lock the door, and call the cops about the ‘creepy-ass cracker’ who was following him in the dark. But somehow, he ended up bashing the man’s face and head in. And getting a hole in his chest for it. Justice has already been done for Trayvon.

For all the idjits calling TM a ‘child’: he committed an adult (not mature) act, then received adult consequences. On an ironic note: anyone ever notice that 12-yr-old girls are suddenly called ‘women’ by the PP purveyors of abortion when they become pregnant? Nothing like a double standard to help us identify idjit Libs.

“Forst off, if defense is defense.”

Killing someone in your home who broke in through the window is defense. Killing a kid one the street when advised by authorities to leave him alone constitues premeditated murder.

“The Boston Bombers broke the laws that were already on the books – and have not been enforced.”

Like what? Entering the country legally? Not having a checkered past that would have prevent them from getting a gun? No waiting period since they were clean? According to the law they passed everything that was required of them to obtain a firearm. What laws on the books did they violate in order to obtain a gun?

“Guns do not go off “accidentally”

Tel that to the many kids
who died from “accidentally” shooting a playmate or themselves. I’m sure the NRA taught those kids how to properly hold a fire arm. Wanna blame it on the gun owner? Fine, but you can’t deny the fact that people are dying from guns in their possession.
