    @Ms. Ima

    I agree with you that Reid and Pelousi are garbage. I just don’t understand why you think most of the GOP is better. They’re all the same Demo or GOP.

    We have the ability to limit terms each time we vote. Term limits are the lazy person’s way to get the job done.

    The typical argument against term limits is that we can punish ourselves by having to “fire” a good legislator. Fine as far as it goes, but I am having less and less faith that such a person exists.

    Term limits have backfired badly at the state level. The effect is that lobbyists become the institutional memory of the legislating body actually increasing their power to corrupt the process.

    Are you referring to the Ryan plan which even Ryan himself is refusing to go the record as supporting or voting to repeal the ACA 37 times?

    I listened to an interview of Bob Schieffer and he spoke about congress today. His point? It is full of junior aides that write the legislation for their bosses, tell them the talking points because the congressmen rarely read the bills. The congressmen are too busy spending 4 to 5 hours a day raising money and dealing with “supporters.” Both sides have them, there is no difference except the party labels. Interesting to hear someone in the MSM talking about this.

    I think most of us are oblivious to how much time politicians spend on fund raising & non-legislative things. We need to somehow get big money out of politics.

    Hah! The House’s idea of gun control is to make everyone own a gun.

    The Democrat majority in the senate needs to go.

    It is just waiting for the Obama tow truck to haul it to the dump. Some Democrat Senators are blinded by Party Loyalty and some are true socialists, while following Obama, a Democrat in Name only- really a Marxist. GOP Senators are mostly liberal, call themselves “Moderate” and think re-election lies in rolling over. The House is better because of newly elected fiscal conservatives but the entire Congress- Senate and House are abdicating their constitutional powers to a President obsessed with Executive Orders and placing people who think like him in administrative positions who ignore congressional directives and demands for information about their activities.

    I believe that Congress used to spend most of its time legislating and investigating, but was interrupted by the need to do fund raising.

    After Newt, Congress spends most of its time fund raising, sporadically interrupted by legislative needs.

    Ima; have you EVER paid ANY attention whatsoever what Boehner, Cantor, McConell, Rand Paul, or other "conservatives have either done or proposed? I WILL hand one minor kudo to Paul for actually standing up and seeking to use the “filibuster” as intended, instead of as McConnell has abused it.(for four years and hundreds of times)
