So, the President is releasing criminals back into the population, furloughing border patrol agents, shutting down a child’s chance to visit and tour the white house, and generally cutting in places that will make the largest impact on the “essential” public service needs.

Meanwhile, he still has a couple of wine tasting events scheduled in California, approves a 50 million dollar outlay for TSA uniforms and is planning yet another vacation to the “vineyard” in the summer.

And for YEARS there has been a list of places to cut waste WITHOUT affecting essential services. Check it out.

    What to see the list?

Oh and TROUT, you would LOVE some of the cuts. I don’t agree with them all but shoot you have to start somewhere.

    Nice post Bruce.

You do realize the article linked will not be popular with the libs here, points out the $6 trillion increase in the deficit since O took office a little over 4 years ago.

To bad few to none of the recommendations will be implemented or programs cut. To many sacred cows to feed.

Ms. Ima: I double clicked on your photo and it takes (anyone who wants to look) back through all your comments. I suggest that you watch more than one channel (Fox) and maybe read about the USA History and then look at your bank account, then look where you live, then make comments about “Budgets”. Because Bush/Cheney took us on the biggest ride with out a budget ever. They did not put the “War against Weapons of Mass Destruction” on the BOOKS. So when President Obama, (Please address POTUS in his full title, even you, describe yourself a Ms.) we immediately were in debt. Because people like you who do not “READ” anything from any real source are still able to communicate, we get to have these irrelevant comments. Go back to bed.

What year did the Doo-Doo in Chief pass a budget? Bush passed one every year as required by law.

The GOP really would like to kill those who disagree with them. Catch them in an unguarded moment, you’ll see.

Bruce: couldn’t find the “list” at the second site, but every post coming from Fox, means not worth a search.

Yes, there IS a lot of waste in government, but the ’toon does demonstrate both the effects of a “sequester across the board”, AND demonstrates the NRA “so what” attitude toward gun control of "mass casualty (collateral damage) weapons in the hands of civilians.

Bruce, you forgot to mention the $250 million that is going to Egypt. We’re spreading the largess of our loans.

Ain’t it the truth. It would seem that we could all agree that dipping into this 500+ billion would be better than shutting down white house tours out of spite.

After a while it will be easier to pick out which posters to move past and not read. Such as ms ima, howgozit and harleyquinn. They give every appearance of being trolls.

How sad for you. Did you go to
The great big banner at the top[ of the page that is scrolling past three subjects is where the reference site is. But wait…go here:

Seems to me – my opinion that is – that the ‘toon is showing the two idiot party leaders squaring off shooting at each other over a pittance in budget cuts but managing to do a bunch of collateral damage. The artist was not even trying to address gun control but using the scene as a metaphor for all the people getting hurt BUT the ones doing the cutting.

But that’s just me, I could be wrong.

Again, trout, it’s sad that you can not read and reflect on opinions coming from those you disagree with. It’s is rare that a man can go through life with a perfect record in decision making, choosing the correct path at every turn. You may even learn something useful and certainly will see things that may give you ammunition.

As far as i can see the only “news” outlet not in lockstep with the others IS Fox. So if you want to hear the same thing over and over…..

Bruce, agree that the amount is actually a pittance, and both sides, as usual, ignore where viable cuts really could be made, and not greatly impact folks. The trick is, that I watched these “cuts” for decades, and invariably, agencies that did the most for “We, the people” always took the brunt, while “We, the corporations” never really get hit.

It’s one thing to think “swords into plowshares”, and with corporate agriculture, that isn’t needed as much as "swords into highways, infrastructure, energy development OTHER than traditional fossil fuels, resource protection, healthcare improvement (like regulating “big pharma” and corporate profiteers) for ALL Americans, keeping wasted “foreign aid” to only those who truly support the U.S., and actually may NEED some support-which they can pay us back for eventually, and many other things better than bombs.

I like cartoons that show that both parties are doing damage to those around them. My compliments to Mr. Catalino for presenting a bipartisan cartoon that seems designed to make viewers realize we are being manipulated and abused by both of these egotistical, self interesested, and equally abusive organizations. The fact he uses the “gun debate” as a tool is just delicious.

All news is propaganda. When you are relying on a “story” complied by someone else, that other persons viewpoint is going to influence what is told and how it is presented. It can not be helped. It WILL happen.

So if you are truly that closed minded concerning a different point of view that you refuse to even listen to it and decide if there is any small part that you can agree with how will you ever be able to do as YOU say the other guy MUST do and work out a compromise?

A conversation is one person talking and the other LISTENING.

    Information is a weapon.

You forget the golden rule (as written on the corporate lobby wall).

Stop and think about it. Who runs the world? Those with the money (power). No matter what you do the ones that have the cash generally get their way. Well, until us peasents have had enough….

Reminds me of a song by my favorite John singer:

You say you want a revolution
    Well you know
We all want to change the world

It would be nice to see real “change” I voted for it and it never happened.

You say you’ll change the constitution
    Well you know
We all want to change your head

But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao
You ain’t going to make it with anyone anyhow

You want change like you say? don;t give up the fight but don’t let it fill you with hate either.

This isn’t your first time around neither will it be your last.
