Ken Catalino is a conservative cartoonist who is happiest puncturing balloons filled with the lightweight gas of liberal idealism. This doesn’t prevent him from criticizing conservatives on occasion, if reason and rationality are violated

Last night a representative from the Childrens’ Television Workshop publicly stated that Sesame Street gets so much money from licenses and corporate donations that they don’t even need federal money anymore. As such, they would much rather prefer that people quit bringing them up when it comes time to discuss funding for PBS.

@Darren Blair
Can that be said for all the other programing and affiliates?

@Darren Blair
So why are they still taking the money?

If anything, Sesame Street could actually subsidize some of the other shows on the network.

Big Bird only has one wing. Can you guess which one?

The bird brain attacking Big Bird. I’d have liked to see both of them say they’d defund the Office of Faith Based Initiatives, that’s doling out far more taxpayer money to Liberty University than PBS.

It certainly isn’t left wing. Like it or not, believe it or not but PBS is NOT the evil liberal institution that you and your ilk wish to make it out to be. Unless of course the truth is a liberal concept.

PBS has been under attack since the 1980s. Remember the days without any advertising? Enjoyable music without interuption? Informative news without political leanings? I do.

Your knowledge of Big Bird anatomy needs some additional study.

Romney is happiest when he is destroying something.

That is what I got out of the debate. He gave me the chills. And he was rude.

When will Sesame Street invite O to star on their show? He can show the kids how to count to 16 billion!

Romney is concerned about federal spending….for free tv on subsidized PBS….when the US is borrowing foreign money and continuing to add to the over $16 Trillion public debt, just to fund things like free TV that have no constitutional authority for government to fund.
Romney knows that the PBS popular programs can get viewer donations and funding by charitable private trusts and continue broadcasting. Romney is not “killing” anything. It takes the mindset of an 8-year-old to stretch what Romney actually said about ending US treasury funds for PBS into these inane cartoons.
