    Day camp you go home at the end of the day.
    overnight you sleep in cabins or tents and stay till your people come get you.

    what sort of “overnight camp” lets the kids have cell phones? grumbles everyone I know confiscates the things and gives them right back to the parents….

    Cell phones weren’t really a thing when I went to overnight camp. I mean, they existed, but they weighed a ton and cost even more. :-P

    Policies vary from camp to camp. Some prohibit them, others allow them, but with the express consent that if it gets lost, the camp is not liable to replace it.

    Back when I was in camp, I had every electronic I had taken away and that was back in 1999 so basically it was a pager and a walkman lol
