It’s as bad as the story that I read several years ago where someone overheard an elementary school kid in a video store asking his father, “What’s Looney Tunes?”

She married in, so maybe not?

    Ah. That’s Marcy’s sister-in-law, Olivet’s mother. She’s white.

Welcome to the 21st Century. It’s still pretty messed up but some things have gotten a little better. Here, have a seat and watch this Cheerios commercial.

I was in a McDonald’s, and the sign read “Free Ice Cream Cone for Seniors”.

A busload of high school kids stopped by after a game or some such, and I overheard one of them say, “Hey, I’m a senior!”

I had thought that, too…. but to be optimistic, it could be possible that he was thrown off by Marcy’s use of the term: “mom” for Olivet’s mother (use of a pet name for her as one who’s just given birth, as opposed to actually referring to her as her “mom”- which he could have generally assumed, that it was the second one)…

No, the colorist did make a mistake. Marcy is talking to her mother, who married Rev. Glover – Clarence’s widowed father – hence her response about marrying into a big family. But I don’t get why she’s not including Clarence’s older children (CJ, Jasmine). Maybe because they were born before she married Rev. Glover?

I wish there is a way to double check using the Jump Start’s history. The first into of Maureen was at “Maureen and Clayton’s relationship arc.” I do not know when the story arc happen to double check. Therefore if you have the time to find the colored print of that arc then we can state if the colorist may a mistake or not.

Here a bonus, my family is very mix, I have cousins that are African American, second cousins that is so mix that they can check every race box but Asian and Middle Eastern. I have Native American in my blood.

If you go back to the December 5, 2003 strip, her mom is depicted with shading on her skin but with light colored hair. The strips were not in color back then. Cruncy is shown without shading. I think the colorist goofed.
