    This is the other aspect, not touched on yesterday… an even deeper discussion awaits….

    Being privileged with many heritages and gifts, I have felt that it is the “best of both worlds” or, in my case, “best of a few worlds”…
    ==
    Some people do seem to appreciate that the glass really is half full, that one who is multi-racial can be well rounded, culturally, societally, etc…. I’ve heard some, though, who assume that one would be confused… as if you’d have to choose one thing or the other… if that was the case, though… we’d ALL have to do some choosing, in one way or another… we all should be able to identify ourselves, not have another to do so…that would be the essence of true liberty….
    ==
    But the focus should really be on who you are, NOT what you are… as someone mentioned yesterday, we are human……

    Jasmine Glover seems to be a child wise beyond her years. All naysayers of the Cheerios commercial with the interracial family take note.

    The purpose of a commercial is to make you buy a product – not be a representation of reality. People really need to remember that. Also can’t see how she can “relate” to those rich people :)

    Actually, I’m all for mono-racial … the human race!

    Although, we seem to have a few outliers that pop up once and a while.

    I truly beleive the only way we will ever get rid of racial pride and predgidous(sp) is to completely meld all races on the entire planet together. Then the world will be able to move forward- NOT before.

    “– not be a representation of reality”
    Those weren’t robots in that commercial… they were real people, alright…. and it wasn’t meant to represent a “one size fits all”… just a random family….that is all… they just happened to be “multi-racial”…. just like some people happen to be “tall”, “short”, “brown eyed”… or happen to be this or that…. it pales in the grand picture of it all…
    ==
    They are definitely real people… not meant to be the “definition of all”, but are a part of reality….

    Well, REAL PEOPLE respond positively to advertising that shows people similar to themselves.

    Biracial households have money to spend, just like any other household. If Brand A includes biracial families in their advertising and Brand B does not, it’s unsurprising that some consumers might say “Well, I guess Brand B doesn’t WANT my money…”
