Sigh, at least one nearby town is planning on adding a 5 cents a bag tax.

Get a reusable bag, Marcus. Oh wait, you’d have to spend money on that. But at least it’d just be once. Also you can stilll get water from the faucet—you don’t have to buy the bottled kind!

You don’t want to drink Philadelphia tap water.
We pronounce it “wooder” – but once upon a time, we called it “Schuylkill Punch” (named after the Schuylkill River which runs through Philly, pronounced “skoo-kill”), which was basically re-treated sewer treatment plant discharge, as the sewage once was discharged upstream of the water intake.
That problem has been solved, but the water still tastes nasty!

I’m not sure whether ‘Evian’ bottled water is sold world-wide… but if one spells it in reverse, it describes anyone prepared to spend almost three euros for something one can obtain free from a tap.

reusable bags have been found to quickly become germ and parasite infested. YUM!

Reusable cloth bags should be washable. Too bad Marcus wasted money on those ugly tattoos instead of spending a fraction of that money on reusable bags.

At least one grocery here pays ME 5¢ for each cloth/insulated bag I reuse.

You can get reusable bags cheaply from thrift stores. And a reverse osmosis filter for your home is affordable, self-cleaning, and makes the water, as my plumber said, “almost too clean to drink.”

Marcus is practically a strawman example of the 1% hording their money and weakening the economy

Turn on the tap, free water. Use your own bank’s ATM and there are no fees. My local grocery store gives a $.05 credit on your order if you use a reusable bag and doesn’t charge extra for the plastic bags (which ARE recycable). Marcus is just whining AND he’s a cheapskate!

Re-useable bags – readily washable – and many local stores give from 2 – 5 cents back for every bag you bring.

As for the car being on E – that is penny wise pound foolish – having the gas level below half is rough on the fuel pump, and the lower you habitually keep the fuel the sooner that pump will give up. And THAT runs into some serious $$$ – wise up, Marcus!

I get reusable bags for free from the Minnesota State Fair…several of them…I use them for a year and then get new ones. I never put raw anything in them so no germs to carry over…I put fresh meat in produce bags so even if they leak a little, the blood / juice is only in the plastic of the produce bag, not in the reusable bag. No germs allowed!

And keep those reusable bags in your car so you may actually remember to use them. It becomes second nature after a while.
