Uh, you actually DO have to get “permission” to sue the executive, among other government entitites.

The RepubliCon meme is to change the subject away from failing schools, ‘trickle’ economics, crumbling infrastructure, social support, accurate statistics, good science and logical thinking. Change the subject to what? One has only to follow Holbert for a few days to discover.

Cue the trumpets: scapegoating is no way forward. Think about it. Vote vote vote for better governance in November, local state and federal. Government is necessary at every level and it ain’t gonna get better if we let the Rush Fox noise ‘team’ make the selections.

The US once had a Constitution, an archaic, obsolete document written in the 18th century that the US government had the good sense to revoke.

That Constitution made it clear that, if the House felt that the president MIGHT be guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors, it could respectfully request that the Senate investigate the charges. Any Senator who thought the charges were serious enough to require action was required to vote to investigate, but those Senators who felt that that the charges were not worth taking any action was required to vote against an investigation so as not to waste time and money.

The Congress has had problems with the president a few times in the past, and they always ignored the Constitution in order to deal with those problems in the most effective manner (i.e., in whatever manner those paying their baksheesh wanted).

Note that the US no longer has any Constitution, because any silly limitations imposed on the government by a Constitution might leave the US vulnerable to the BolsheviksIslamists, so the Congress can do whatever it likes, and the President can totally ignore the Congress and the Supreme Court if this is necessary to maintain the national security (and, by national security, we mean that President’s agenda, and that of his Friends).

Like the Teleprompter, rightwingers never noticed when previous presidents used executive orders. What makes this one different from all the rest? Hmmmmmm?
    .
I guess issuing any executive orders at all — even far, far fewer than previous presidents — is evidence of being uppity. Well, we can’t have that.

The Repubs are so focussed upon attaining total control of the government that their desperation is plainly evident for all, except a fool, to see.

“The RepubliCon meme is to change the subject away from failing schools,…”

And your post is not an attempt to change the subject of the cartoon?

But then again, all the previous Presidents were white.

Clearly there is a great deal of outright hatred aimed at our President. It is very reminiscent of behavior at the height of the civil rights movement 50 years ago. We are little better than the sectarian factions who are destroying their country in Iraq.

“I’d say your Dems own the problem of “failing schools.” Lock, stock, barrel. Hook, line, sinker.”
Who gave us “NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND”?
Who took education away from educators and gave it to legislatures?

This is no more the conservative way than it is the liberal way. In 2008, the House sued Bush, so this is hardly a tactic of just one side of that illegitimate coin: http://articles.latimes.com/2008/aug/01/nation/na-privilege1

I’m sorry, but I was also alive 50 years ago, and there is no comparison. This idea that President Obama somehow is experiencing more hate than other presidents is misguided. For example, in the election of 1800, the fighting was way dirtier than anything, today. One newspaper stated that should Jefferson be elected, he would create a nation where, “murder, robbery, rape, adultery and incest will openly be taught and practiced.” In return, a supporter of Jefferson declared that Adams was a “repulsive pedant” and “gross hypocrite” who “behaved neither like a man nor like a woman but instead possessed a hideous hermaphroditical character.” http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2012/08/20/the-dirtiest-presidential-campaign-ever-not-even-close/2/

So, we are now seeing more hate than any time since the election of 800? Could be. But the South in the early 1960’s might be a match.

Though No Child Left Behind was strongly supported by George Bush, it was written by Ted Kennedy. I’d say both parties are on the hook for that one.

Be careful, Barack. Remember what happened to John Adams and his Alien & Sedition Act.
