Too bad GHW and Barbara didn’t regard the “preventable”.

Makes you wonder what dirty secret of Clinton’s those men were left to die to cover up, that’s been the SOP for the trail of corpses all along her career.

I take it Jerry Holbert isn’t a Hillary Clinton fan.

I take it Jerry Holbert didn’t read the report — she’s not in it. But, of course, if you are simply illustrating Rush Limbaugh talking points, you don’t have to do any research.

If she wants it, and her health holds out, the POTUS is Hillery Clinton’s to lose. Just who do the Republicans have that can make it through the tea party maze for the nomination, and yet remain viable to most moderates and independents needed to win the general election against her??

“I take it Jerry Holbert didn’t read the report — she’s not in it.”

She is mention by name once by name. From page 76 of the report: “Ultimately, however, the final responsibility for security at diplomatic
facilities lies with the former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.” She is also mentioned a few times by her position, Secretary of State.

And her qualifications for being POTUS are what exactly? We have had Presidents with only legislative experience, and they are failures. She was grossly unqualified to be SOS as well.

Just because she is a woman, does not mean that she should automatically receive the ongoing coronation that is running through the MSM as well.

The most reliable and prestigious of the right wing press has printed the indisputable facts about Benghazi: Obama and Hillary could have saved the ambassador, but refused, then lied about it; also, since Obama’s war against Al Qaida was going badly, the covered up that Al Qaida was responsible. The most reliable and prestigious Obamabot press has also printed the indisputable facts about Benghazi: Obama and Hillary did nothing wrong, and told the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

(Of course, in every Senate investigation of Benghazi, the majority ruled that Obama and Hillary did nothing wrong, but the minority have a very different opinion. And the last report has the minority’s version as well as the majority’s version, so it’s self-contradictory.)

There is no evidence that Obama and Clinton could have saved the ambassadors, and considerable evidence that they couldn’t. The right-wing lies about issuing a “stand down” order are just that, lies; as as the report and every congressional investigation makes clear. And whether the GOP actually cares about ambassadors is abundantly clear from the budget they just passed through the house, severely cutting the budgets for embassy safety. Again.

You forgot to mention the House austerity plan that cut the State Dept budget for our embassies from 1.81 billion to 1.53 billion and took months to come to that agreement.
Also even Condi Rice publicly stated no one could have gotten there in time to save the Ambassador at what was the American diplomatic mission in Syria our Embassy is in Damascus.

You’re actually going to keep pretending that Benghazi WASN’T a real scandal? Good! It WILL guarantee that Hillary DOESN’T become the next President!

It is easier for Republicans to “tarnish” Clinton than to present a desirable candidate.

Is not every act of terrorism preventable? Why pick Benghazi, there is no end of examples.. the one that started all this.. 9/11 comes to mind. Fox frenzy and ratings are what is driving this.

“The right-wing lies about issuing a “stand down” order are just that, lies; as as the report and every congressional investigation makes clear.”

You are correct in that there was no stand down order (sort of). The order was to remain in place.
    From the transcript ot testimony:
    AFRICOM AND SOCAFRICA AND THE
    TERRORIST ATTACKS IN BENGHAZI
    LIBYA ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2012
    House of Representatives
    Committee on Armed Services
    Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations

Ms. Tsongas. Just another follow-up. To what degree are you aware of had Lieutenant Colonel Gibson’s request been granted, who would have been left protecting the embassy in Tripoli?
    -
General Ham. Essentially no one, ma’am, other than the country team staff, which is I think the primary rationale for the decision to direct Lieutenant Colonel Gibson to remain in place.

    Farther on in the testimony:

Mrs. Roby. Do you agree that you and your team were ordered to, quote, “stand down”?
    -
Colonel Gibson. Madam Chairman, I was not ordered to stand down.
I was ordered to remain in place. “Stand down” implies that we cease
all operations, cease all activities. We continued to support the team
    that was in Tripoli.

There seems to be a bit of hair splitting here in the order not allowing Colonel Gibson to go to Benghazi. Farther yet into the testimony, reasons are given for that decision that I agree with.
