Ah the endless odyssey in the House that represents us resumes, doesn’t go anywhere just keeps droning on in vain efforts to do nothing in 117 days or less, some work ethic.
Interesting in 1983 Newt claimed tax increases would kill prosperity, Boehner just plagiarized the same restatement as if he thought it up.
Funny part about all that is Clinton ignored Newt raised taxes and create 8 years of prosperity for everyone, left office with a surplus instead of a deficit and a booming economy.
The 8 years of Bush deregulations and defunding, wars, etc and the last 4 years of conservative protectionism for the greedy have the conservatives trying to prove the opposite with tax cuts, smaller government and austerity that has returned us to depression era growth, kept slowed growth to a crawl, kept poverty high and created the largest gap between the haves and have nots this country has seen in a century.
It only goes to show us that repeating the conservative mistakes doesn’t work, we do best when we all get to work together.

Almost every voter agrees: all but three of them are like the Distinguished Gentleman. Of course, my Congressperson and my two Senators are just great, honest, hard workers, who could do a lot if it weren’t for all the others.

Partisanship is a clueless taskmaster, if all of our representatives had no party affiliations I wonder what would be passed, investigated or obfuscated?

Ok, that last part was from Horshack on Welcome Back Kotter, but the point is…
Great comment, great tone, and a truly American sentiment.
Thank you and please write often.
    I’m Smiling :)

Per my comment about tax cuts is proven history, not hype.
As for the rest of your post I heartily agree with you compromise is needed, the current failure to put partisan idealism aside is the greatest deterrent to progress especially in todays political environment.
Our preamble in the Constitution specifically asks our leaders to Provide for the Common Good not the special interests that compromise our nation solely for the sake of protecting their profits against the common good.
As I mentioned earlier your wisdom is appreciated.
    Thank you
