And, of course, Jerry’s point is how much it costs taxpayers to have people use the ER for minor injuries like a malfunctioning website. Once they’ve all got coverage, they can take these non-critical, non-life-threatening problems to a regular physician and, even if they are being subsidized, it will cost less than having them use ERs.
    Good insight, Jerry!

A friend with great connections went to the ER with chest pains, no insurance, and no intention of paying. They told him to go home, it was not a life-threatening condition. This is the normal response. Along with a bill for $400 that he had no intention of paying, since it would just be one more phone call from the bill collectors, and he was already avoiding a lot of those, so one more wouldn’t matter.

Then a physician he knew saw him and admitted him for a free quadruple bypass. But most of us with no insurance don’t have his connections.

(Some who would like affordable healthcare for all Americans are not yet convinced that the ACA is going to live up to its name, but the rational sceptics are not yet convinced that it is NOT going to live up to its name, since there doesn’t seem to be enough hard data to reach a sound conclusion.)

Jerry lives and works in Massachusetts, the home of Romney Obama Healthcare since 2006. He KNOWS what works and what doesn’t. And he’s employed by the international Murdoch machine. I know, I know, that ain’t ‘news,’ merely a fact.

You mean all those countries that depend on us.

Uh huh. Now show me what countries have universal health care and an 85% tax rate.

“no rational doctor is going to close their practice” – tell that to the doctors who have already done so, sir!

Yeah, I’ve seen all the stories about former doctors who now deliver pizzas in their BMWs.

They are all broke. They deny care to the very young and the old while giving breast implants to 19 year old girls. Most of these countries that the left touts as great because of their health care have populations smaller then the number of folks within 50 miles of NYC.Any large american city has more MRI machines the Canada or the UK.A friends wife is from Canada. She describes the Canadian system as “great as long as you don’t get sick”.

We said it wouldn’t work and we are the bad guy, it didn’t work and we are the bad guy. Might as well say we told you so. Here about Howard Dean saying it is the Republicans fault. He he.

You are correct that many of us are closing our doors. You may not be aware that many of us have either done so or started considering an exit strategy long before Obamacare became law. Once the insurance companies took our money and our independence from us, there seems no reason to continue. Obamacare may continue the attrition, but I can say for absolutely certain, it is not the cause. The point here is that going back to the failed system pre-Obamacare won’t make a darned bit of difference in this regard.
