    Does anyone know any of the 17%? I know of absolutely no one who approves of Congress. I think the true numbers are just members of Congress themselves, some of their family members, and lobbyists.

    Since I consider Congress to be a two party oligarchy made up of cannibalistic greedy people who attack members of their own parties and impede the progress of an entire nation, an entire world according to the IMF head, I don’t understand why Congress isn’t in negatives.
    Saw your firesign theater quote, Player.
    Thanks for the grin. That was a great show.
    Respectfully,

    The presidential approval is even less.

    I’m sure you could cherry pick your polling sample to achieve that number. However the most recent Gallup poll puts it at 47%

    As opposed to the miscreants who still desperately cling to the notion he’s a Muslim, or born in Kenya, or is a communist and et cetera?

    I’m thinking that the 17% is largely made up by the hard-case folks who get their views exclusively from right-wing media. If you can’t change your mind, are you sure you still have one?

    @Eryx

    My high school chemistry teacher was running for Meanest Teacher, trying to unseat the perennial winner, a certifiably insane but tenured government teacher. It was a penny a vote. He hosted an ninth-grade homeroom class, and sold them candycanes for the purpose: ten cents apiece or two for a quarter. Almost all went for the two-fer.

    By the bye, he won.

    Which is still nearly twice as high as the Congressional Republicans approval ratings. Or Congressional Democrats for that matter.
