Anyone think this might be planned? I mean, think about it: could this much rancor and disagreement happen this long without it being planned?

Round or rectangular table is next on the agenda.

Apparently, the door in the cartoon has something in common with our cannibalistic legislature. It’s ‘unhinged’, making it more difficult to proceed.
It has long been a sign of courtesy and good manners for the person who first reaches a door to open and hold it for those following. The two parties demand to be the first to pass through the door and then attempt to slam it in the face of those who follow. And like the man in the cartoon, the American people wait helplessly – some of them hopelessly – for those “other people elected” to do their jobs in a civil, intelligent, and respectful manner.
    Respectfully,
    C.

Lately, it seems that Mr. Holbert, who is generally a conservative cartoonist, seems just as fed up with both parties. He has either slid over to the Libertarian side or, like many of us, looks at the political news in the morning and just says “Seriously?”.

You aren’t very smart are you. If the farm bill doesn’t pass, a “continuing resolution” is passed that continues all of the pork spending. The reason the GOP house voted it down is because it cut subsidies to rich farmers, many of whom are GOP congressmen. Of course they want the status quo.
