I said, “Don’t give any power to George W. Bush that you wouldn’t want to give to Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama”, but did they listen?

Now Rip van Winkle is waking up and wondering how this could have happened……

Serious question: How does this all fit in with GWB’s Patriot Act?

    @Ottodesu

    Under the Patriot Act, 115 STAT. 272 PUBLIC LAW 107–56—OCT. 26, 2001,
    (a) SHORT TITLE.—This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Uniting and
Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required
to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT ACT) Act
    of 2001’’.

The full text can be found by going to the Thomas Register which may direct you to the Government Printing Office.

There is a lot of “striking” this and “inserting” that to other acts and tracking down those acts is a trip. Basically, Title I and Title II of this act gives the government Big Brother authority on any kind of communications between a U.S. citizen and a foreign entity. And then if they “suspect” a citizen….

Some of this act may seem innocuous at first read, but if you extrapolate some of what is stated in the act, compromise of your privacy will become apparent.

Serious answer: The NWO wanted it so that they could monitor the USA.

if you are not doing anything wrong, why worry? Besides, No Such Agency only listens for key words and phrases…anything else is ignored

I wish I could be as trusting.

And as the definition of “wrong” has morphed significantly since I was a kid, I cannot accept your first question. It is that kind of thinking that got the PATRIOT act passed in the first place.

GWB opened the door a crack and O knocked down the house.”

Translation: GWB gave out a whole set of keys to people who told him they could be trusted. Obama seems to like their company.

And now we have the NSA data mining Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Facebook, PalTalk, AOL, Skype, YouTube and Apple. What no Twitte?

Current IRS and EPA abuses are good examples of government overstepping and their activities are publicly visible.Do you truly believe that a portion of the government that can operate in secrecy wouldn’t be abusive?

Thank God for the House of Representatives who has passed legislation not to use Tax Payer money for Homeland to buy additional Ammo till they explain their 1.6 billion round inventory. Right now Homeland has enough to supply every trained agent 4000 rounds in 9mm or .40 Cal. A soldier is given one single 50 round box for his sidearm. Even his weapon M-16 or M-4 he carries a combat load of 210 in his magazines and another two combat loads in his vehicle.

For training purposes MPs fire 100 rounds in training for their side arm a year and 80 for there M-16 or M-4. How can homeland justify this?

“If you are not doing anything wrong, why worry?” That is basically what Hitler told the Jews in the 1930’s. If you trust the NSA, you are a fool.
