   The US budget is roughly $4 trillion. The sequesters is roughly $1 trillion. The 2013 sequestered car is about ¼ the size of the former car.

   
   If the sequester were ¼ the sequestered car should be ¾ the size of the old car, not ¼ the size of the old car.

   
   But the sequester ain’t ¼ of the total government budget! The sequester is over ten years. So each year is only about $100 billion, or 2.5%, NOT 25% of the government budget.

   
   Of course, government programs to build Startrek phasar weapons (trillions squandered) MUST continue to keep Al Qaeda at bay, but every park will be closed, the DHS will have fewer personnel, so you’ll have to wait ten times as long in line for questioning, etc., etc., all to keep you safe even though you slashed the government budget by 2.5%.

   The problem with the sequester is that it was sloppily conceived and blindly cuts programs with no regard to their need or the impact of their reduction or loss.

   
   This is the GOP plan: blindfold yourself, swing an ax and then hold your hand out for a donation from the Koch Bros.

   The first was an outrage at how Obama isn’t cutting government spending enough and the second was an outrage on how he is cutting spending too much.

    ok, how about this for a spending plan.

    1 What you got this year is what you get next year. Across the board.

    2 In year two you get ten percent less than what you got the previous year.

    3 Continue with ten percent less until the expeditures reach 98% of the income generated the previous year.

    4 Once we reach levels of 98% spending of the previous years income, the balance, 2%, will be used to pay off the debt.

    5 Any member of a congress that fails to pass a budget by the begining of the fiscal year, will be considered to have resigned by reason of failure to meet their constitutional obligations, and will be inelligable to run for federal office for the rest of their lives. Let someone else run for congress who WILL take their constitutional duties seriously.

    I have not asked for stuff from the government besides some VA benefits and some unemployment. I earned my VA benefits through 20 years of services & I paid in to unemployment like everyone else.
    
    I don’t want to take others people labor by taking their money and I don’t want others to do the same to me. It’s called looting.

    Math lesson: The F-35 is already an obsolete dog, and is a total failure, scheduled to cost (already obligated) $1.3 TRILLION! That is a pretty good place to start cutting.
