Over 2/3 of the glass was filled by Republican administrations, tax breaks, and wars. Glub, indeed.

    Riiiiight………
The debt is high because taxes aren’t high enough and we shouldn’t have gone into Afghanistan after 9/11 to take out the Taliban and Al Queda. Ok got it.

We should have gone into Afghanistan and we did.
    -
We should have taken out the Taliban and Al Queda, but we did not. Instead, we invaded Iraq.
    -
We should have financed the wars and counted them as part of the deficit, but we did not.
    -
We should not have cut taxes in the middle of a war. But we did.
    -
    But you already knew that.

It’s cute when your memories are so short that you forget the War Because That Country’s Leader Insulted Dubya’s Daddy. The War to Reclaim Iraqi Oil. The War to Finance Blackwater.
    Yeah, that one.

@sw10mm interesting, what exactly did these awful limbs say that was inaccurate? @braindead08 was dead on accurate as to the facts, why not argue with those facts rather than personal attacks?

Does it bother you when conservatives fail to take responsibility?

It’s amazing how Obama can spend less than Bush yet look so bad because he decided to fight wars on the books.

For the graph-impaired: Bush years got us the mustard colored deficit. Obama years got us the light blue deficit.

    From the Congressional budget office.

Zing! The liars are out pushing their ‘Blame Bush’ figures. Ignoring them is easy.

Your graph seems to indicate that the Bush administration was terrible at making formal budgets that included borrowing: whereas, the Obama administration was much better at it, Or, maybe the CBO got better at it. (although I don’t remember any formal budgets during this administration). Either way, between the two of them they tripled the debt. That’s fiscally a failure of both administrations

What a stupid, brain-dead cartoon. Government spending is lower under Obama than under Bush, despite the economic problems.

Debt is the new trickle-down economics. Republicans need a new myth to wrap around their shriveled party now that the old one has been so thoroughly debunked. Both myths serve the same master however.

With the trillions received in taxes and the trillions borrowed, if you have a source for your comment, I would be really, really suspicious of that source.
