People who want government as a Nany State are childish in a James Taggart kind of way.

Governments ALWAYS get bigger under Republicans than under Democrats, and this time is no exception. And jack, it’s spelled “nanny.” And Howie, when are the GOP going to stop subsidizing oil companies, the most successful corporations since history began?

I suppose it would be asking too much to see the source of your information, other than opinion?
The unfortunate truth behind one part of what you say is yes, it always gets bigger and costs us more money, regardless of who is in power. It is already a self-perpetuating nightmare of spending.

Fun fact, The US federal budget is 20% of GDP

The average country is 24% of GDP

The average western country is 29% of GDP

The average military is 1.8% of GDP

The average western military is 1.2% of GDP.

By deducting 1.2% from 5.2% (military spending + overflow)) you get a solid 4% difference

Thereby, in non military spending the USA is at 16% of GDP

8% below global average, including China, Japan, India, Europe, Indonesia, Malasia, Thialand, and 13% below western average. And yet despite these numbers the USA is apparently the only country with a spending problem that has gotten so bad as to leave a 6% yearly deficit.

The US has to recognize that in the real world taxes don’t go to pay politician’s salaries, but to numerous different jobs and services. Including necessities such as infrastructure ( western average should be around 3% as to prevent deterioration.) and various QoL improvements such as healthcare, transportation and so forth.

Taxes are not devised as a punishment by a bunch of people scheming in the swamp lair.

likewise if the USA wants to keep taxes low relative to rest of world then there needs to be cuts to military

Slick Willie Clinton balanced the budget by cutting divisions and such in the military. Then we had Desert Storm and it took six months just to get to a decent strength to launch it because we had too few troops and equipment. Balancing the budget by cutting the military as bloated as it may be is not the way to go about it. In the coming years we are going to need our military to protect us and the idiot liberals who have emasculated our Country by their march to a socialist state.

Great cartoon, because it emphasizes taking care of our children, preparing the next generation, planning for the future, funding schools and health care … all the things every other nation in the world does without whining.

Oh, no; cutting the military budget makes it SO HARD to invade, conquer, and occupy defenseless and innocent foreign countries!

    And that makes us SOCIALISTS.

    @1opinion

Sorry, just happened to come across your post. After a thread falls off my profile page, I usually don’t go back.
This forum is set up so that new cartoons keep coming out before we’ve finished with old ones. It’s hard to keep up, especially since I’m trying to keep this more of a hobby than an addiction, lol.
    .
Give me some time to respond. I see that you posted some sources. Check back later, maybe tomorrow, if I don’t have time today.

Operation Desert Storm began January 17th, 1991, Clinton didn’t take office till a year later.

G.W. Bush spent time lining up U.N. support & coordinating with allies before beginning deployments, which did take several months.

G.W. Bush had no problems deploying troops for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 in roughly the same timeframe.

The real question is, whether that sort of massive military operation makes us safer. You need to read up on history & military logistics.
