This also becomes a Constitutional rights kerfuffle, now that the Supreme Court has unwisely equated money and speech.

Ahhh. I feel better now. As an African who always hears about how corrupt African officials are (as many indeed are), I’m pleased to see Americans have raised the bar.

The vast majority of citizens don’t want gun control.

But 90% of citizens want the gun show and internet loopholes closed, which was the bill that was actually filibustered. Gun control was not on the table.

I wonder what Thomas Jefferson would think about the U.S. government, as it is in this day and age?

Easy and elegant solution: Remove private money from politics. Completely. Make ALL political functions dependent on public money. Any politician found accepting a single private dollar will be tried for treason.

I’m still amazed that some politicians like our own Jim Greer go to prison for 18 months, but others don’t do any time.
Marco Rubio used the Republican Party credit card for home renovations. He is still running around obstructing progress.

Yes, he did have slaves, but what does that have to do with the question that I asked?

He would wonder how a black man actually became President.

“Comparing them by their faculties of memory, reason, and imagination, it appears to me,
that in memory they are equal to the whites; in reason much inferior”

@Tigger – prove it with some links to surveys. You are basically just making up facts that have no grounding in truth. Polls have shown time after time a majority of people are in favor of background checks and limits on things like assault weapons.

if gun control can “not” eliminate all gun crimes, then by their logic, we shouldn’t have any laws. no drug laws, no tax law, no crime law, no sex laws, nothing….a total free for all. are the gop, in favor of anarchy, then?
