That third guy is out of place. Ike would be booted from today’s Republican Party as too liberal. Come to think of it, so would Barry Goldwater.

And we’ll take back the White House as soon as we convince those broads to vote for us.

There is a Horrible Plank in the Party Platform that says we will Stop Abortions. They pretty it up with words like “Sanctity of Life” or protecting Women but it really comes down to a bunch of Religious Doofuses that want to oppress women because their god (intentional small g) told them it was the right thing to do.

When they couldn’t get the courts to accept their god given right to stick their noses into every woman’s business they decided to create impediments instead. Like forcing women to have invasive ultrasounds before they are allowed to terminate a pregnancy (regardless of the need or reason).

If the Republican party doesn’t get with the times they will find that they can’t get a President elected.

I remember a line from the West Wing – “You Republicans want to shrink the government down so it is just small enough to fit inside people’s bedrooms.” There is a lot to be said for that.

The Republican party needs to return to it’s roots and run on:
Integrity, Freedom, Personal Responsibility, and Fiscal Responsibility. Only then will they be attractive to: Women, Minorities, Millenials, and Average Americans. If they don’t they should be content with a majority in the house most of the time and a weak majority in the Senate some of the time.

^ But women are victims of their powerful libidos and SOMEONE has to control it for them. We Republicans volunteer for that onerous duty.

Actually, The Republicans are gonna have a hard time finding enough volunteer women to work for their “Outreach to Women”, since they want their wimmenfolk in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant!

The problem I have with the Republicans’ anti-abortion stand is that seems like just an attempt to exert their will onto others. Every time I talk about options that would help reduce the number of abortions, such as sex education, counseling, subsidized birth control, et cetera, someone gets huffy and declares that they shouldn’t have to pay for any of that. It just seems like a lot of “Do as I tell you, and to hell with how it affects your life!”

I want women to be able choose life, not have the decision forced upon them

    Bravo. Well stated.

I only have one small nit to pick: while I agree that the party needs to return to its roots, it DOES run on “integrity, freedom, personal responsibility, and fiscal responsibility”. But what those politicians say and what they do are often mutually exclusive. Time for Republicans to walk the walk. Talk is cheap, and some people get it wholesale.

    Deeds, not words.

And, to be sure, Democrats should be sharing those principles. We all SAY we support that stuff, but somehow it never seems to materialize.

Ah! But we all know that conservatives don’t think, probably can’t think, and certainly never think about anyone but themselves.
I’d rather be a moron than a vile selfish swine.

@Richarddelguru – I really find your attitude at the core of what is wrong with America. You refer to conservatives as vile selfish swine. At the point you are using the term selfish you telegraph to all of us that you think YOU and your majority are a better judge of what should be done with fruits of a man’s labor then that man himself.

You seem to feel that it is morally acceptable to enslave the productive to care for those who can’t or won’t live within their means. You even go so far as to call them swine. As though even protesting that they are being robbed makes them subhuman.

This country was not built on welfare, robin hood, and government support. It was built by people who worked hard and used the results of their hard work to improve their communities and the lives of their families.

You are a moron because you have such a narrow point of view that all you can see is the good you can do with the money you want to take from producers. You can’t even fathom the evil you do to those producer’s communities by taking the money out of them and handing it out to the political class.

Every dollar the Government spends was either taken from someone who worked to earn it. Or borrowed so that it can be taken from someone who will earn it in the future.

    Grow up.

There was a hilarious video awhile back, where a guy is sitting at a “speed dating” table, and woman after woman would sit down briefly, look, be visibly taken aback, and then either laugh derisively or snort in disgust before moving on to the next table.

How about "Conservatives are “SOMEBODY ELSE SHOULD PAY THIS BILL CAUSE I DON’T WANNA, WAHHHHH!” swine? This fantasy that the US shouldn’t have roads or rural electricty or dams or bridges or anything else because “it costs taxpayer money” is just that, fantasy. What would the US be without the biggest construction project in history, the construction of the interstate highway system? And we are getting constant whinging now about turning it into toll roads because you guys don’t want to pay for upkeep? NOT IMPRESSED.
