Jeff Danziger provides a scathing international take on politics, finance, and everything else you aren’t allowed to discuss at the dinner table. Combining spot-on caricatures with razor-sharp writing, this feature will make you listen a little more closely to what they tell you on the news.

NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief weapon is surprise…surprise and fear…fear and surprise…. Our two weapons are fear and surprise…and ruthless efficiency…. Our three weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency…and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope…. Our four…no… Amongst our weapons…. Amongst our weaponry…are such elements as fear, surprise…. I’ll come in again.

Does anyone envy this man and his job. I’m not catholic but I will pray for him and his flock!

ALL religions are hypocritical.Christian and Catholic hypocrisy arises from the fact that we pick and choose which parts of the Bible we will practice then attack others who pick and choose differently from us.

If one reads the correct set of passages, one will find the Bible actually supports gay relationships as well as str8 relationships.

Won’t help. Prayer doesn’t work.

Please agree to disagree with me! at least this one time, Prayer does work for some people, and you just said " ‘m not catholic but I will pray for him and his flock!" If you’re not catholic how would you know it does or doesn’t? (just saying)

Moses didn’t drop and break commandments 11 thru 15 as depicted in that Mel Brooks movie. The vatican has them hidden.

Strange to watch the new pope get the TMZ treatment.

The Spanish Inquisition gets all the press, but the Roman Inquisition was worse. Galileo certainly didn’t expect that, and he got off easy with a recantation and permanent house arrest. The Church has almost forgiven him for that.

I do NOT agree to disagree with you. Prayer does not work and those who claim it does are guilty of selective attention. Events occur randomly, whether they are prayed for or not, at the same frequency.
You may not, in all intellectual honesty, flip a coin a hundred times while praying for “heads,” obtain 50 heads and 50 tails, and then claim your prayer was answered half the time.
Or as some totally intellectually dishonest people claim, "Prayer was answered 100% of the time and half the time, the answer was “no”."

Okay all you intelectual types who swear prayer does not work, or that only catholics can pray. I have prayed you all have long and happy lives , and achieve enlightenment( time for a Bhuddist curveball). If any of you should expire in the next few days please let us know through this strip!

^ No “swearing” was involved. Only an examination of the data.
