Actually, Israel’s actions are mostly “we told you to knock it off, so now we’re going to make you knock it off.”
    []
If Hamas and everybody else truly wanted peace with Israel, then why do they keep firing rockets off into the cities?

and stomping on Afghanistan was disproportionate compared to A.Q. taking out 2 towers, the side of another building and an empty field.

The people who promote this would profit greatly if they can goad the Israelis into a ground war, regardless of who wins. Of course they are not putting themselves in harms way.

I don’t envy Israel – damned if they do, damned if they don’t.

I like the golden rule – do unto others as they would do unto you. Only do it bigger and badder.

When you stop and consider that Hamas is being funded and supported by Iran and Al Qaida, this is a truly unfair depiction. Israel is surrounded by countries who want nothing but to destroy her.

The reason the Palestinians are in such a plight is due to their own leaders’ corruption, and the Arab/Islamic world using Palestinians as a pawn in their attempts to destroy Israel.

The sooner the US can get off the OPEC teat, the sooner we can drive the Arab world into irrelevance, and then Israelis will be safer…

Now comes a remake of the movie “Red Dawn” where a group of America teenagers act EXACTLY like al Qaeda and Hamas fighting against invaders and occupiers. And all Americans will cheer THEIR terrorists while condemning everyone else’s.

AlQaeda is not an entity that earns income. Therefore, they cannot “fund” anyone. Their funding comes mostly from our ally Saudi Arabia.

Danziger, as usual, is dead accurate in his analysis of the situation.

The horrible tragedy of “the holocaust”, where Jews were half the casualties, even though a large percentage of their population DID pay the price of the world ignoring the horror, is NOT an excuse for them to become the “new horror”. We, as their surrogates in Afghanistan, Iraq, potentially Iran, need to tell them to stop their aggression. Reality DOES call for looking at both sides, and the “biblical view” IS NOT valid.

Gee Doctor maybe you need to look up some definitions in the dictionary. In red dawn the kids are fighting the enemy’s military which is what a guerilla force does. I have no arguments with anyone fighting against our army,Attacking the two towers is not the same thing as shooting at soldiers. Ask a simple question. if all the arabs around israel put down their weapons tomorrow what would happen? Nothing. If the Israelis put down their weapons tomorrow what would happen? they would all be dead by sunset. Israel has every right to defend themselves.

Jeff might want to do a better count of the thousands and thousands of rockets being randomly sent into Israel by Hamas. That, or of the fact this has been going on for a very long time but with minimal Israel response…up to now. Maybe the next cartoon could lampoon Hamas being asked just to stop rocketing Israel before crying out about Israeli ‘aggression.’ And a cartoon after that might be to suggest that Hamas think about using the money they’ve spent on all of these cheap, poorly made rockets instead on the people, infrastructure and economy of Gaza rather than for PR and attacking Israel.

It is a mistake to think of the Palestinians as a unified force that Israel or anyone else can negotiate with. Regardless of what agreements are reached, one faction or another will break the truce. I’m not condoning or excusing Israel’s actions or treatment of the Palestinians in general. But the fact that there is no central body to negotiate with certainly complicates things.

Netanyahu considers Gaza, Iran’s front operating arena against Israel. Many Israelis are tired of the shelling. I don’t think many countries would tolerate indiscriminate shelling of civilian areas regularly. Hamas executed 6 Palestinians that they say were Israeli collaborators. Israel is stressed by what they feel is an ultimate impending deadline in which Iran will have a nuclear strike capability, and the bizarre ideology to use it! Sooo, it’s not just Gaza abuse by Israel.

“Early parliamentary elections will be held in Israel on 22 January 2013 to elect the 19th Knesset”
    .
Now, ask yourself this: If there was an election coming up in the USA and we started a military action would you think maybe somebody was trying to wrap themself in the flag for political purposes?
    .
Just a grain of salt folks.
    .
Netanyahu has been sarbe rattling all summer in a region that is rife with violence. Then, as everyone else is shaking off their oppressors, the Palestinians decide to Spring a little “Arab Spring” on the people oppressing them. So now Bibi says “We’re the victims here!”
    .
It’s just hard to agree. For Me!
