CIA, KGB, they invade Afghanistan, we invade Afghanistan, and Iraq, and set proxy in place in numerous countries. Putin is more than a tad “creepy”, but not a Stalin, because Russia is a lot different country today, despite what “right wingers” keep saying. We’ve competed with the former USSR and Russia too long, it’s time to stop the “monkey see, monkey do” to keep up with them.

In 1924, a rabid pacifist by the name of Winston Churchill wrote an essay, ‘Shall we commit suicide?’ saying that the next war would exterminate humanity.

In 1938, Chamberlain committed the egregious sin of appeasement by not declaring war on Germany until the radar shield was up to stop the Luftwaffe from dropping poison gas and exterminating the entire British population.

So now, everyone knows that appeasement is always wrong. The US must continue to fight the Communists, or there will only be one brand of toothpaste and queues for meat. And the US must fight all of Islam or there will be Sharia Law, only one brand of Islamic tooth-cleaning stick, and queues for goat.

The US voters agree that the US must eschew appeasement and fight the Communists and the Islamists, and the US decision-makers earn fabulous (and well-earned) profits that they must be allowed to keep without paying any taxes, or they might leave the US defenseless against the Communists and Islamists.

“must fight all of Islam or there will be Sharia Law”

This wing-nut chant I’ve always found particularly amusing.

As if all of our lawyers, paralegals, judges and courts are going to a) Suddenly abandon Anglo-Saxon Common Law and all its precedents after 800 years, b) Learn Arabic en masse, c) Memorize the Koran and then learn Sharia from scratch as if they were first year law students, d) Translate all our legal documents, software, records, transcripts, case histories into Arabic.

“The danger of Sharia law taking over” . . . I mean, my God, how stupid do you have to be to believe this?

    -
stupid enough to believe world history since 632 A.D.
stupid enough to check the history of every nation the Islamists have moved into, multiplied their population, and succeeded in getting Shariah Law to REPLACE the government that existed before Islam conquered….Egypt…
every one of the world’s 57 Moslem nations today.
    -
Real Stupid is ignoring or denying history and the goals of the Islamist leaders….they may fight each other…Sunni versus Shiite, etc…..but they unite to try to restore the Ottoman empire and add all nations to it…..and to eradicate Jewish Israel….and the “Great Satan”, the USA.

Lol . . . I’m not sure what you are talking about here, but it sounds like you may be referring to the Jihad in the 7th-8th centuries AD.

Things have changed since then. It’s unlikely that waves of camel-mounted mohammadan shock troops will have much effect against modern tank brigades.

Which sharia law? There is no one sharia, it is whatever a particular iman says it is. Aspects of one version or another may be incorporated in the laws of one nation or another, but the same can be said about every law code in the world – borrowing from other systems is the way both progress and regression occurs. The only thing that unites these postings is hate for a religion they don’t understand, nor want to. And what does this have to do with a cartoon about attacks on all religions? Monkey see, monkey do? Monkey belong In a zoo.

“every one of the world’s 57 Moslem nations today.”

It appears that there is quite a bit of debate online among Islamic scholars as to which nations ‘truly’ practice Sharia law.

The consensus seems to be that of the 50 or so Muslim-majority countries in the world, most practice some mix of sharia and other systems, some at the state level, but most at the local or family level.

I like the way we are fighting the Communists by ealing with China, the largest Communist country ever. Do you realize that the Chinese army owns all of China’s industry? When we buy Chinese, we are strengthening the Communist state.

Khrushchev said “We will bury you”. He actually meant the cold war, colonialism, and never ending wars, would bury us in debt, and he was right. It broke their union, and has impoverished our own.

The Chinese are ‘communist’ in name only. They practice full-blown crony capitalism.

The real danger from the Chinese is that for the last 10 years, they have been quietly moving into countries all around the world – signing treaties; negotiating trade deals; investing capital; building ports and roads; training and hiring workers; bribing leaders if necessary – all with the intention of exercising a controlling interest in global raw materials for the next 50+ years.

Menwhile we invest in Mid-East wars.

I like Danziger’s style a lot — especially the little details he throws in — but I fail to see the interest in a cartoon like this — here, anyway. In Russia, it would probably be bold. But who in the US is going to find anything thoughtful here? I have never met anyone of any political position in North America who had any regard for Putin. There is no information because there is no difference from the background noise.
