I’m not sure that bears are really deep in sleep in places where it is that green outdoors in January.

For those who can’t read upside down – -

After killing his wife, the husband shot a digital picture of a prior photo of the bear to get the right time and date. He then went on a walk for three hours to establish his alibi. But he made one blunder: In January, bears are deep asleep in their annual hiatus.

Bears sometimes wake up during their winter sleep to go exploring, or if they are disturbed during the sleep. They are not really hibernating, but merely sleeping deeper in winter. Bears everywhere have been spotted (and photographed) year round. Just google “Bear in snow” and you will see plenty non-polar bears frolicking in the white stuff.
Inspector Dangers reasoning is based on false data.

I figured the Jan 7 had something to do with the mystery. The 3D affect of the calendar almost poked me in the eye.

Bears slow down in the winter, but sometimes do come out of their dens, especially if something(or someone) warm and tasty wakes him/her up
