Life's a series of ups and downs, which is good news if you're on a mountain bike.
Hubris! is the story of people who enjoy their weekends more than their jobs. Hard to believe, right? Wandering in and out of The Outdoor Galore Store, the woods, the skatepark, the river and trouble, they'll risk their lives and limbs to entertain you by entertaining themselves.
Grab your helmet and whatever toys that go with it. Spend your free time with Hubris.
Check out Greg Cravens' other strip, The Buckets.

“We don’t have to outrun the wukilar, we just have to out run you.”
(Variation on an old joke.)

What’s great about Lowell is that you can tell him to his face what the joke is and he still won’t get it. Saves a lot of energy, not having to be subtle.

When originally doing this strip, I looked up the etymology (is that the right word?) of ‘left holding the bag’, which I always had the feeling related to the snipe-hunt thing. Turns out its something totally different, but it still works so I finished this strip the way you see it.

I remember Snipe Hunting from my Boy Scout days 45 some years ago, Except, ours eneded up involving a bear. Thankfully no one got hurt.

When I was new in scouts they stuck me with the bag on a snipe hunt. I knew it was a joke, so I played my own and circled around through the trees and back to my tent and turned in. They spent hours looking for me in the dark.

Poor snipe.

Wait till they see a real snipe.
--A snipe is any of about 25 wading bird species in three genera in the family Scolopacidae. They are characterized by a very long, slender bill and crypsis plumage. The Gallinago snipes have a nearly worldwide distribution, the Lymnocryptes Jack Snipe is restricted to Asia and Europe and the Coenocorypha snipes are found only in the Outlying Islands of New Zealand. The three species of painted snipe are not closely related to the typical snipes, and are placed in their own family, the Rostratulidae.

oh, Lowell is so easy.
Met a very large black & white striped urban kitty on my way home from work yesterday. I, and everyone else on the sidewalk, but the woman in front, stopped and waited until it had waddled accross our path and onto some grass to look for grubs. The woman in front just kept walking. We held a collective breath, but she was safe, she didn’t even notice the skunk, but she did notice no one was walking behind her?
.
Happy Thanksgiving to all our American posters. Hope everyone got stuffed! :)
