I asked my mother to hold my phone for five minues, and she managed to turn off the ring tone. Neither of us know what she did, other than “push a few buttons, just to see what happens”.

I do know how to answer my wife’s phone, though I haven’t tried to make a call with it
After taking several pics of the cats, I did finally figure out how to do that without her setting it up for me
Beyond that, it may as well be alien technology to me

Last month I went from a flip phone to a new smart phone. Now I have to charge it every day instead of once a week, so it stays off most of the time. The manual for the new phone is 550 pages and an inch thick, but it can be downloaded to the phones memory.
