I am on dialup, so I have a slow internet connection all of the time. That’s life.

“Slow” & “fast” is all relative. Slow internet is faster than going to the library.
I find myself looking for something to do while waiting 30 seconds for the microwave to ‘ding!’

When you started with a 110 baud audio modem, anything is an improvement. (That’s 0.000011 MB/S)

14k modem was my lifeline in the 90’s!!!!

When I found a 2400 baud modem for under $100 I thought I was in speed heaven.
It was a misprint in an Egghead ad, but they honored it.

Pouring Ketchup. I had 256 KB of RAM in my Seequa Chamelon portable computer. They said that nobody would ever need more for home use. It dual booted CPM 2.2 and PC-DOS 1.1. You could upgrade it to 760 KB for another $350US. Some people even added a hard drive.

Yes, pouring ketchup. As Ogden Nash said, “None’ll come out, and then a lot’ll.” But I wonder if we WERE as frustrated before everything was “instant”? Slow and easy, all the time, and we didn’t know it could be otherwise.
