@MIKEFIVE- Sessions could have said, “I did not have communications with the Russians regarding the 2016 election.” That wouldn’t have been the complete truth, but it would not be a lie.
Instead, he said, “I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I did not have communications with the Russians.” That’s a lie. Sessions knew that questions about his contact with Russian officials would be questioned during the confirmation hearings. It’s hard to believe he wouldn’t have looked at his schedule from the last year to see when he met Russian officials, so he could declare them to be part of his Senatorial role. I can only conclude he deliberately concealed those meetings during his hearings.
One of the meetings was at the RNC Convention, where Flynn also had meetings with Russians. Why would the Russian Ambassador, who is known to work on behalf of Russian Intelligence be meeting Trump’s key supporters at the RNC?
In light of the fact that “communications” between Trump’s people & Russians keep being discovered, it seems like we should get to the bottom of the matter. If it’s a dead end, the administration should be happy to let Democrats waste time chasing it, right?
