    You could change the name plate to that of many sitting politicians on both sides of the aisle.

    Remove all private money from any public election. Make it an act of treason for a politician to accept a single private dollar in return for favors. Fund all public elections with taxpayers’ money.
    .
    If the rich want influence, they get one vote, same as me. And they can write a letter to their representatives if they want their voices heard.

    Payne looks at Washington and only sees Obama. It ain’t tunnel vision, it’s funnel vision: everything he sees runs down same little hole.

    Well that would mean very few democrats would be paying anything.
    Where I live and at work the dems are on welfare and other taxpayer funded asisitance programs.
    Except the very rich ones that go to those $40,000 a plate fund raisers.
    The ones we used to have at work got laid off because they were dead wood.
    Come in late and leave early.
    Complain that their pay checks weren’t as big as others who did not do the same stuff.

    You have an extra ‘m’ and when you get rid of it, then you don’t need the second ‘s’ after that extra ‘m’.

    The Wolf has it right, and it IS feasible. With TV, Email, U-tube and so many other means of instant mass communication available today, candidates can make themselves visible to all at far less expense than ever before. Government licenses the airwaves and cable. Government could mandate air time for all qualified, legitimate candidates. Until money is removed from the American political process, things will continue on as before.

    I also think Judism and Islam can reach an understanding,
    Elizabeth Warren will be our next president, and NAFTA will be repealed.

    Let’s get a Republican back in the White House so he won’t be distracted by fundraising. His employers will see that he has plenty of campaign money so he can concentrate on carrying out his orders/

    @Joadtom

    Joadtom, I don’t know what level of leadership you are in, but here’s my little tale. In 1990, I bought some vacation acreage in northern Maine. With 110 lots, we were a Landowner’s Association, responsible for the maintainence of about 25 miles of gravel roads. I was it’s first president,: 3 terms, 6 years. I’LL NEVER DO IT AGAIN! There are always a couple of members who are determined to make life MISERABLE for Association officers. You obviously know exactly what I mean, and I have a little more understanding of some of your posts!
    (We still may disagree, at times, OK?)

    I suppose in your little scenario the Liberal Press still gets to campaign 24/7/365 for their favorite Liberal candidates and issues, right?
