What a weird cartoon. Obama ‘13 surprised everyone by asking for congressional approval. This cartoon might have made sense for Libya, where Obama didn’t ask; but for Syria it makes no sense at all.

“The US President is ALWAYS right. And any American who says otherwise is NOT a patriot. And any foreigner who says otherwise is an enemy combatant.”

    And it’s Bush’s fault. And you’re a racist. Selah.

International conventions, and treaties, drew the “red line” on chemical weapons, quite true. WE need to act unilaterally to bring down Assad, even if Congress DOES approve? False and just as stupid as Bush, Reagan, Bush 43, and McCain.

Haven’t agreed with a number of things Obama has done to appease “conservatives” (mostly), but this action on Syria, mostly to make Israel happy is just dumb. WHY are we backing “fighters” aligned with Al Qaeda, our only real “enemy” in the war on terror, to put down a regime backed by Hezbollah, Russia, and yes, Iran, who so far haven’t really attacked any true American interests???

Also notable, we’ve knocked off the most secular, even if not the most “benevolent” regimes, and allowed fanatic sectarians to take over, in every case! Where IS the sense in not just Obama’s, but the past three decades of US foreign policy in the region?? Right, it’s those fundamentalists here at home who WANT “Armageddon” it would seem.

It’s nuts to foment more hatred in the region, within their factions, but especially toward the US.

Something I learned in Viet Nam was expressed by others a long time before: It should NOT be “my country, right or wrong”, but rather "My country WHEN it’s right, and to CHALLENGE our “leadership” when it’s WRONG!" (and that applies to whichever “party” might be in temporary, or marginal, “control”.)

Why isn’t anyone talking about sending humanitarian aid to the civilians?

Several, including Aljazeera America have been showing the camps in Jordan, and IRAQ! Thus showing the “humanitarian” side of the events, but those don’t get people going as much as spending more on bombs, apparently.
