Critics are panning this movie right and left. It is even worse than the previous Lone Ranger movie – from back in the 80s. Rating is PG-13 – it is NOT the type of movie you can take children to see.

Haven’t seen it, but I’ve heard it was “kinda fun”.
Not gonna win an Oscar, but not horrible. It’s just getting bad press because it cost over $200 mill and won’t come close to that at the box office.

Its not bad at all. There were a whole lot of moments where you can’t help but smile. It’s worth the price of early showing.

By the way, there were lots of children in the theater when we went. It’s not that bad as far as violence.

if the movie critics didn’t like it, it must be a pretty good movie

Maybe the problem is the cost of the ticket. If the movie is based on a character for kids, why make a PG-13 movie and put doubt into the minds of the parents as to the content? Wouldn’t you rather take them to see a sure thing like Monsters U or Despicable Me? We rarely see more than one movie per summer anymore, mainly because of the expense. That is what is causing these big budget movies to flop. If tickets were back down to $5 a person, I’d be willing to go every weekend. (We don’t have a second run theater around here, otherwise I would probably do just that)

The Manchester Guardian says that it “is not quite the flat-out, jaw-dropping calamity that some would have had us believe.”

The teasers look like junk. Not anywhere close to the same story or action. LR was not a shoot-em-up person, and he actually figured out ways to catch the bad guys with thought and finesse, instead of bullets.
