Depends. Is he more like a retired Republican president (golf) or more like a retired Democratic president (active service to humanity)?

He’s going to “pray” all day to beg “god” for forgiveness for failing to toss out the priests who “prey”. He’s a useless eater.

A democratic president being an active service to humanity? Cut back on the cocaine and LSD it is giving you hallucinations.

May I direct your attention to Jimmy Carter and his humanitarian works? Please tell us what reagan, Bush Sr. or “W” have done to contribute to society and the plight of the poor? I also seem to remember a very few references to Bill Clinton’s altruistic efforts. Note I said very few but still I remember nothing of the recent republican presidents. So who is hallucinating there zoidy? Oh, right, you live in your own reality where the democrats do nothing but evil and republicans do nothing but good. I think we call that opposite world. But even that is wrong, there are good republicans just as there are evil Democrats, just not as many good, honest caring republicans as there are evil republicans and not as many evil Democrats are there are mildly good, caring Democrats. I left out honest because let’s face it, there is no such thing as an honest politician, just as there is no such thing as an honest or accurate comment from zoidknight.

Sorry, Jimmy’s trying to make a legacy for hisself, since he has none as prez. His most active things since leaving office have been to tell everyone how bad Israel is, and kicking people out of Habitat because they didn’t agree with him. Jimmy’s a loser.

Look in the mirror when you say those words. I’m not Cathloic, but tell me which government agency has done more in this world over the ages to do what liberals espouse but only give lip service to. In the words of that Tom Hanks movie, “My religion feeds the poor, heals the sick, and comforts the dying. What does your religion do? Oh, that’s right, you don’t have one.”

Nice try Jack, sure my blanket statement that bushy Jr. did nothing was in fact incorrect, but he merely supported these organizations, what did HE personally do? KoM was correct, his daddy and Bill Clinton partnered to help with humanitarian efforts after the Sunami in Indonesia in 2004 which made me wrong regarding Bush Sr.

But before you credit baby bush for his “humanitarian efforts” read the whole page you linked to, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama have also supported the very same charities. So has Britney Spears, Demi Lavato and Alan Jackson. So baby bush has hardly been a driving force behind those 9 charities. But I guess writing a check is such hard work.

Where does the funding for that program come from? How much of the American taxpayer money has gone to benefit AMERICANS? It’s really easy for a president bush to claim credit when he was spending American taxpayer money
    http://www.nysun.com/national/bush-signs-bill-to-triple-aids-funding/82912/

I really don’t care if you like the source, it cites actual legislation that provided taxpayer funding for baby bush’s “AIDS Fund” so I really don’t think it is fair to credit to him he did nothing of personal substance to get it established.

he [Bush] did nothing of personal substance "
    .
How do YOU know what Bush did “of personal substance” (lol)?
Some presidents do things for media recognition. Some do not feel the need to put on a show.
So how do you really know what Bush has done “personally”?
Are you so desperate to prove democrats are better that you will make a profound statement that ironically proves how ignorant of real facts you are?

Mr. Payne’s cartoon raises interesting issues. First reports indicated Benedict will be reclaiming his name and moving to a convent to read, write, and pray. More recent reports suggest he will be living in facilities being renovated in or very near Vatican City. While he has had great influence on the body that will nominate his successor, it’s been nearly 700 years since a Pope lived in lobbying distance the seat of Peter.
Catholicism is a religion, but when you get to Vatican City, it becomes a very focused replica of a ‘United Nations’ with influence on practicing Catholics in nearly every nation on the planet and EVERY state in the United States. The “Holy C’s” influence on world politics is hard to miss over the last 1900 years since it laid foundations in Rome and Constantinople.
My own belief’s do not require me to pay much attention to what a pope says, but history, and more recent events, do require voters be aware of the influence Rome has on our politics in the USA.
I don’t see him retiring in Fla., or playing golf. Dominoes, chess, and perhaps shuffleboard…but he’s movin’ kinda slow.
    Respectfully,
    C.
