Haven’t had a twinkie in decades. They are tasty though.

Like Dracula, the Twinkie might rise again.
Clearly, management was to blame for trying to sell Wonder Bread and Twinkies when most Americans no longer eat white bread or sweet junk. If only management had switched to selling broccoli florets they’d have had a big fan in Bush, Sr.

Just a comment on this strip, pall bearers do not have their noses in the air. Out of sadness and not wanting to mis-step we are looking down.
Witty cartoon anyway.

It does seem that with Hostess selling only 500 million Twinkies last year that broccoli florets could have helped keep Hostess afloat.

Like Sam Clemens, the report of their death is premature. It’s already on the news this morning that the diabolical sponge cake descendent will survive.

@Mr. King
Remarks about “goons” aside, Trumka really sounded foolish in remarks he made after his White House meeting with the prez. He emphatically stated that there was no fiscal cliff and this was just a scare tactic to rattle the country. The man does rival Uncle Joe for gafs…

“Yup, all Union bosses are “goons””
Except that’s not what he said. But you know that.

“Union goons”…That must be who fires shots into the houses of miners families during strikes.

@HOWGOZIT
So, you admit that most Union members are not goons? I think I see the Devil lacing up his ice skates!

Trumka was taking a stand against Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid cuts. The left has good reason to worry about Obama starting negotiations from the point where he’d like to end, instead of starting by asking for more than he expects.

“The left has good reas0n to worry about Obama starting negotiations from the point where he’d like to end,”
What???? Obama has never done that. He’s a socialist, marxist, fascist, Kenyan communist who is a control freak who won’t cooperate or support any position but what he and he alone wants. Did I hit all the right-wing talking points? Seriously you can’t expect President Obama to ask for anything more than the minimum he is willing to accept, that woudl be un-republican.
But on a truly serious note, I am hoping President Obama is emboldened by his re-election to the point where he will draw his line in the sand and only cross it being pulled kicking and screaming to a true compromise. These years of meeting the republicans on the 50 yard line and then giving them yardage to the point where he ends up in their end zone in order to secure a deal is ridiculous. Somewhere in the middle 30-40 yards is where we need to be.
