His promises depended on who he was talking to at the time. When he was talking to rich people, he was promising free tax cuts to be paid for by the people he didn’t worry about.

Actually, that is not true. The taxes paid by the “wealthy” wound not have gone down. It simply would have made more sense. Perhaps, if you had listened to someone other than those you already agreed with you may have known that.
You don’t have to say it explicitly. You can let the meaning hide in what you do say. Perhaps you can tell me what is the fair share. That is why all benefits to the the “under prive ledged” have gone up to the degree that they have.
