   So, if the sight of her own reflection will hold her spellbound for eternity, what exactly is the effect of a live Male unicorn on Marigold? How can unicorns interact at all if the mere sight of their dazzling beauty renders them immobile? I suppose it could just be the females who are so awstruck. One could imagine how that would be advantageous for the males.

    If they’re anything like horses, the smitten mare’s immobility usually wears off in a minute or so after the stallion has “expressed his love”.

    You don’t HAVE to be a teenager to be head-over-heels (or hooves, in this case) in love… but it helps!
