Oh No, Peter did not get carried away!
    Let me tell you!

We had a water bed in our very small bedroom. The chest of drawers was a little over 1 foot from the foot-end of the bed and the top was less than 2 feet higher than the bed.

Our cat, Puck, would slip in on our days off when we would try to sleep in. He would, quietly, hop on the edge of the bed, stroll along the edge to the foot, then hop up to the top of the chest of drawers.

(I know this because I watched him do it, once.)

Then, he jumped on the bed right between us. (This was when water beds were just a big bag of water with no baffles preventing tsunami’s.)

While we were trying not to be washed out to sea, he was scampering out of the room into the kitchen, where he’d wait with his sister and cousin for breakfast.

We never could catch him before he made his excape, and, of course, punishing an animal without catching it in the act
    - does not work.
