And how many studies showed that sleeping pills work well? I sense some serious cherry picking here.

My suggestion would be to have a sleep study. Find out that you can’t fall asleep because of respiratory obstruction and can’t stay asleep because you wake yourself up with snoring and feel tired all the time because you have sleep apnea (stop breathing)…. my friends who get the continuous or intermittent positive atmospheric pressure (c/i-pap) devices do much better. Albiet it involves a hose in your nose all night.

The doctor’s not going to have time to talk to you. They don’t get paid for that. They just have to run the patients through as quickly as humanly possible.

@Prof_Bleen: Speaking of cherry picking – a recent study has shown that tart cherries contribute to better sleep. The study found that there is an extra 39 minutes of sleep per night if a person eats the cherries or drinks cherry juice before bed time.

I had trouble sleeping, tried ZZZZQuil a couple of times. Woke up feeling like I had a hangover, didn’t sleep that well. I have found though, if I eat Tart Cherries or drink Tart Cherry juice, or have a banana or a handful of almonds before bed, I usually sleep pretty well. Another that works for me is Stouffers Cheddar Baked Potatoes or Stouffers Mac and Cheese. Oh, or a glass of milk, doesn’t have to be warm, cold works just as well for me.
