With the strip running only three times a week and this vacation taking place in the middle (and near the climax) of a storyline that has been dragging on for six months, it does show a rather poor lack of planning ahead.

Whine whine whine. The strip has been coming out consistently for, like, two years. Give the lady a rest.

It’s called constructive criticism. When something is good I say it too.

To clarify. I have no problem with cartoonists taking a break and going on vacation. Stonesoup does the It’s gotta be August thing every year. Others may find it repetitive, but I don’t mind. Heart of the City shows reruns, no problem there. But it’s not bad to listen to criticism and to maybe take a look at how other’s handle it differently.
Because this strip is only three times a week she is automatically going to have less readers than other, daily strips. No way to avoid that and the lack of comments reflects that. But because of this the storyline has been going on since April. I don’t know of any comic strip that does this long story lines. Sooner or later people are going to lose patience with it. But when then there is a break too, and one if unknown length at that, right before (hopefully) the climax and conclusion of the aforementioned storyline, it might just be the last straw for some people.

Lastly I note that the only time you ever comment on this site, it’s to berate someone who left a negative comment on this strip. Otherwise you aren’t very positive or encouraging towards the cartoonist either.

I love this strip and read it every week.

As for my previous comments, I have on occasion gone out of my way to call out users who I feel are unfairly heckling the strip or the cartoonist. In the past, this was in regard to a handful of trolls who were populating the comments section everyday (if you don’t believe me, look up naturally_easy or ekw’s comments from roughly the first year this strip ran).

All of that said, you are clearly not a troll, but your initial comment came off as very patronizing. I apologize for my “whine whine whine” bit, though.

No hard feelings. I didn’t mean to come across as patronizing. I like the strip too. It’s not my absolute favorite, but it has a funny quirkiness that I appreciate. That said, I have seen quite a few strips on this site end after a few years (and far too soon) because they couldn’t hold the readers. Hence my criticism.
That being said, if you like the strip so much and read it every week, I’m sure the cartoonist would appreciate you saying so occasionally.
