    Do you have a fridge?
    No gallery is better,
    for your child’s art.

    The wonderful gift
    Of a child’s scribbling
    Warms us to the core….

    It’s a wonderful gift
Till you try to clean the wall
    Then it’s a problem!

    Oh, such great beauty!
    Nothing better than child art.
    Take pictures, then sponge…

    My children’s art work
Graces the walls of my home
    In lovely wood frames

    Biased…Yes Indeed
    I am a grandmother now
    Framing grandchild’s art!!!

    Their very first art
Was drawn on their bedroom walls
    Should have taken PICS,,,,

    ,,,,,My only regret!
Three times I painted the walls
    My cherished mem’ries,

(Thanks Allison for a walk down memory lane! This is one of my favorites. Touched my heart.)

    In stately homes and churches
    Restorers revive wall paintings´
    Hidden under centuries of repaints.
Find one, and discover past gifts.

    crayon drawing —
    the genuine glow
    of praise

(English-language haiku is not always 5-7-5 as it is taught in elementary schools). it can be shorter such as 6-12 words. English has longer syllables than Japanese, so brevity is more important than keeping the 5-7-5 Japanese form. Also, haiku is not a sentence or a list of three things. Actually, juxtaposition of two images is an important, element in haiku, so one word or phrase on one line juxtaposes another word or phrase written in two lines. Another aspect is suggestion rather than description}.

Former officer of the Haiku Society of America.

    Our purpose here is
    Not so much perfect Haiku

    Free Expression—
    Write, draw
    Think what you want
    It’s beautiful.

    To Mom, every line

Of every child, like the child,

    Is beautiful
