And this is not the only one, the 9 to zip on recess appointments had to be far worse.

Yes, the recess appointment ruling was far more stinging as far as executive power goes. The Hobby Lobby ruling was much more narrowly aimed at uppity women.

Hope no one works for a “closely held company” that doesn’t believe in vaccinations, surgery, etc.
Personally, I have a strongly held belief in hour long lunch breaks and 4 day workweeks.

Remember, this wasn’t about being able to stick to religious principles. It was about sticking ONLY to those religious principles that are shared by the Catholic members of the Supreme Court. That is, contraceptives. They specifically stressed that it doesn’t apply to any other religious principles, for some constitutional reason that they were somehow unable to articulate.

Well, I own a business. I don’t believe in doctors at all, nor vaccinations, or medications. Do I have the right to determine that my employees should have no access to health care? How about if I say that it’s against my religion? Or do I have to say it’s against the religion of the corporation I founded?

“And this is not the only one, the 9 to zip on recess appointments had to be far worse.”

It is a commonly held belief that the appointments were done when the Senate was in recess. Technically (the operant word here) the Senate was not in recess when the appointments were made and are therefore not valid.

“It was the concept of separation of church and state that was taken to the woodshed by five out-of-touch justices.”

One must also take into account that that Amendment I of the Constitution states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of
religion, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF;…”. (caps are mine) Scotus must walk a very fine line when it comes rulings on that part of the Constitution.

I think everybody knows that, I am not sure what your point is here.

McCoy is again illustration the point. The substance of the ruling itself does not matter. The only thing that matters is that it’s a defeat for Obama, thus facilitating Republicans’/Fox “news” viewers expression of hatred of Obama.

this is the 12th and 13th woodshed incident since 2012,(9-0 USSC rulings)…. but beware, the King is plotting revenge on SCOTUS, possibly vowing to appoint more anti-constitution judges in the system and God Help America if a Supreme retires!
    -
And he is bragging that USSC or no, he plans to continue to write Oval Office new laws by EOs….and his agencies will continue to ignore laws they don’t like, especially the Injustice AG Holder, in not enforcing immigration laws, etc., and EPA and HHS and Homeland Security likewise.

Obama has three years left, also what he does with them is a big issue. With Bush, lot of his executive orders was an extra day of during Christmas holiday for federal workers & other minor issues. Check it out, just google executive orders.
