This cartoon is nothing but a hatchet job. The Senate report castigated everybody, and stated that the Ambassador himself refused extra protection.

Wow. They prevented Glenn McCoy from reading the report and seeing that Clinton was never mentioned in it. Yes, we must protect the ignorance of the right-wing commentators, because lying alone is not gonna do it.

“…and seeing that Clinton was never mentioned in it.”

I don’t know whether Mr. McCoy read the report or not; however, on page 75 of the report the report states " Ultimately, however, the final responsibility for security at diplomatic facilities lies with the former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.

“…and stated that the Ambassador himself refused extra protection.”

I don’t think your source read the report because, starting on page 14 (15 of the pdf) there could be a contradiction to your assertion. From the report:

“On June 6, 2012, Stevens recommended the creation of redacted teams, made up of locally hired personnel, in Benghazi and Tripoli. The State Department attempted to create a team in Tripoli, but was unable to do so because it was difficult to find and clear appropriate personnel. A redacted team was never created in Benghazi, despite the Ambassador’s recommendation.”

“On July 9, 2012, Stevens sent a cable to State Department headquarters requesting a minimum of 13 “Temporary Duty” (TDY) U.S. security personnel for Libya, which he said could be made up of DS agents, DoD Site Security Team (SST) personnel, or_some combination of the two. These TDY security personnel were needed to meet the requested security posture in Tripoli and Benghazi. The State Department never fulfilled this request and, according to Eric Nordstrom, State Department headquarters never responded to the request with a cable."

but (there’s always a but) on page 20 (21 of the pdf)

“DoD confirmed to the Committee that Ambassador Stevens declined two specific offers from General Carter Ham, then the head of AFRICOM, to sustain the SST in the weeks before the terrorist attacks. After reading the August 16, 2012, EAC cable, General Ham called Ambassador Stevens and asked if the Embassy needed the SST from the U.S. military, but Stevens told Ham it did not.”

It appears that the Ambassador wanted 13 temporary personnel to bolster site security but didn’t need the military’s full Site Security Team (although, could the report be interpreted differently?).

Interesting cartoon. Based, of course, on the article by the New York Times that, after a very careful investigation, they found that the White House was telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. The Obama administration has destroyed al-Qaeda, so no al-Qaeda members were among the crowd that attacked. Also, the crowd was, in fact, prompted to attack by a scurrilous Islamaphobic YouTube video. So, for those who believe that the White House lied, in spite of the New York Times careful investigation, the cartoon is a perfect depiction of reality.

Of course, Mr McCoy isn’t the only one who thinks the White House press releases were less than 100% accurate.

And the Senate report turns out to have internal contradictions. The Republicans and Democrats could not agree, so both views made it into the report. The conclusion was that the attack was ‘preventable’, but who should have prevented it, and who should be blamed for NOT preventing it, has multiple answers within the full report.

A redacted report proves the Obama report innocent. Sorry No.

Whatever the MSM or the liberals (same animals) do or say, they will never be able to erase the fact that this woman is incompetent and corrupt."
Oh she is not incompetent, and that is part of the problem. She is politically corrupt! A Political Animal on top of the food chain. Billy boy was the Face and she was only 2nd in brain power to him, but she was the muscle. Billy Boy was all shucks I feel your pain as he picked your back pocket. Hillary is here is an award as she sticks the knife between the shoulder blades.
To say she is incompetent is a dangerous thing.I would not show my back to her.

You guys are ……… not thinking.

The affair was a cluster-F… from all accounts given. Who was responsible? Why a multitude of hosts with the Sec. of State at the top of the list.

    But THAT isn’t the problem.

The PROBLEM is that YOUR elected officials felt it was necessary to LIE to you and try to COVER UP the mistakes and wrong moves made by THEM that resulted in the death of OUR ambassador. That’s right. ALL public servants from the president on down are hired and paid by YOU and I so they are OUR employees.

But LYING seems to be the first response of this administration (not that any other administrations have been 100% truthful) to any and all controversies.

    Idiots.

Sheesh! Grovelling in the mud comes to mind. Move on. There’s more important things to do than spending millions and countless time pointing fingers.
