There was an article in the NYT (yeah yeah yeah , that liberal media that wants to drag Obama blah blah blah) yesterday that talked about the “benefit” of Hindsight. It managed to say in a few thousand words what I’ve often said in fewer: They say that hindsight is 20/20, I say that it’s 50/50 at best!
    .
What seems obvious to everyone in retrospect is very often exactly different from what they thought before the case and different still from what they thought during the event.
    .
My poor father used to lament that people were always looking for the one time that he screwed up in order to convince themselves they were right the other 99 times when they weren’t (and he was). I’m sure that if each of you search your souls you will find that you agree, and that you often feel the very same way about how people judge your performance.
    .
In hindsight ANYBODY could have seen this coming! After all it was 9/11! Forget that we just went 10 9/11s without incident; everybody KNEW this was the big one!
    .
“…And the idea that this video had anything to do with anything is just traitorous talk.” Forgetting that the video sparked demonstrations in 19 other cities.
    .
Benghazi is over! Obama’s record on foreign policy is blemished by it. But overall, the Republicans have NOTHING to complain about in Obama’s foreign policy. He’s a stone cold, Drone ’a Mano, killer!
    .
The country has moved from Benghazi to Sandy. Only right wingers want to talk about Benghazi to try to move the conversation off seeing what difference if makes when you have a process in place for dealing with domestic emergencies!

@Orthodox: I was going to suggest you could get the leftist whitewash faster by reading today’s Benghazi coverup in the NYT, but dredpirate mentioned it first.
The NYT never writes an article about Obama without first donning their Official Monica Lewinsky Kneepads®.

Whether there were “demonstrations” in Egypt, Liberia, Lebanon, OR Libya is totally irrelevant. Foreign missions in MANY COUNTRIES are in “hostile environments”, and there are risks involved for those who staff them. There is NO WAY that even doubling “security” would have made a difference in Benghazi. There is no way even having a C-130 “specter” would have made a difference, other than getting more people killed. It is tiresome that such as McCoy keep beating this drum, designed for “tin ears” and brain-dead dittoheads.

HAD “W” listened to intelligence, and Cheney NOT given all “response authority” to only the Secretary of Defense to respond to “events” on 9/11/01, the organization under Clinton might have responded more quickly, not in 58 minutes, but in less than 10 as they did with Payne Stewart’s private aircraft not responding properly, and some of the tragedy might have been avoided.

Starting wars in Afghanistan (dumb) and Iraq (totally STUPID!) was neither a response to the 9/11 attacks, nor an effective deterrent, as we just gave them American targets “over there”, while infuriating the populations of both INVADED countries.

MItten’s has now indicated he would potentially start a similar pointless, needless war, with Iran.

The only “pants on fire” belong to Republicans, and dolts like LImbaugh and Beck, stirring up more folks over a small tragedy that is only a drop in a very large bucket; that “Bush built”.

And yet liberals are still whining about Bush lying about Iraq aren’t they. How about hindsight now?

Oh, and thanks for proving the point of the above cartoon. Maybe if the press layers enough camouflage on this incident it will disappear before Tuesday.

Kind, but inaccurate, to include the Press. Mainstream media has spiked the story. BBC has given no coverage to Obama’s real-time knowledge of the terrorist attack on Benghazi.

As to the first part of your comment:: When did you become a military expert? Everything you bring up is pure conjecture. Then of course there is your favorite fall back to any political comment, blame it on Bush. You are not only a very bitter person, you are also boring…

If you needed the benefit of hindsight to know that going into Iraq was wrong; then you and I are on different planes altogether.
    .
I knew it was BS right out of the gate. I knew it was BS when the receipt for “yellowcake” was written in crayon! From Nigeria! (If you believed the Nigerian Yellowcake story then there is a son of a deposed Nigerian minister that wants you to help him get $1 gazillion dollars out of the Swiss bank! He’ll pay you two gadzooks for your efforts!)
    .
How many people died as a result of Bush’s prevarications? Are they all still dead or have they gotten better now?
    .
Can the dead call out for justice themselves, or must that grim task be done those alive?
    .
Take your false equivalencies and try them on someone who knows no better. That person shpouldn’t be hard for you to find, they’re all the people at your local TEA party Republican Mitt Romney rally!
